We invite you to submit an abstract for presentation at The Paediatric Society of New Zealand Te Kāhui Mātai Arotamariki o Aotearoa 77th Annual Meeting 2026.
All abstracts submitted will be reviewed for award eligibility. This year, we’re offering awards that recognise emerging talent in child health research:
• PSNZ New Investigator – Medical
Those holding a MBChB including Registrars, Junior doctors but not eligible for TRA
medical students or summer students.
• PSNZ New Investigator – Non Medical
Nursing, Research Students and Allied Health.
• PSNZ Best Māori Presenter - (for presenters who identify as Māori – please indicate your ethnicity and Iwi's affiliation when submitting your abstract)
• PSNZ Best Kaupapa Māori Research - (open to any presenter – for research work grounded in kaupapa Māori)
Deadline for submission 11:59pm, NZST Monday, 31 August 2026
RACP Trainee Research Award (TRA Award)
Please note: Trainees submitting work for the RACP award must also upload their abstract to PSNZ. Please see RACP communications for guidance. These awards are designed to uplift and recognise those at the start of their research careers. Please check the eligibility criteria, including sponsorship requirements for non-members. Deadline for submission 11:59pm AEST Sunday, 16 August 2026.
We warmly encourage you, or your students, trainees, and early-career colleagues, to submit an abstract and be part of this year’s programme.
Let’s shine a light on the next generation of child health research in Aotearoa.

All abstracts submitted may be eligible an award on offer. The Scientific Committee will review all entries and you will be informed if awards selection has been approved.
RACP Trainee of the Year Award - further information will be sent from the College.
Those applying for the RACP award will also need to upload their abstract to the college portal according to college regulations for entry for this award, please see communications from the RACP for how to complete this process. https://www.racp.edu.au/foundation/college-congress-prizes/racp-trainee-research-awards
Eligibility for the RACP TRA will be assessed by the College.
Closing date for Pabstract submission is Monday 31 August 2026, 11.59pm NZT.
